About The Artist

Kira refers "the bright shining" in Japanese which is the relative translation to Işıl in Turkish.

All of paintings are original ideas and carry over a message which either comes from an emotion unexplainable by language and single word or story of a culture.

In paintings I like to use the traditional colors, brushes and materials which I hand pick and select from inspiring travels which also translates into the theme. Marrakech, Paris, Cairo, Kyoto, Matsumoto, Crete...

Paintings that have been created in late 2025 carry the custom made personal sign in Japanese, a hand crafted Kira stamp made in Kyoto, Japan.

Paintings that have been created during Covid period, are painted on up cycled industrial glass with spray paint technique due to limited resources and expression of the times.

I was born in Ankara, Turkey and lived most of my life in Istanbul. Currently residing in Dubai.
